Important update from Surf Life Saving Central Coast.#slsccupdate // For the safety of our members and the public, SLSCC has made the decision to cease all-volunteer patrols effective immediately. There will be no further volunteer patrols this season.

SLSCC will be still supporting the following lifesaving response capabilities.
- Emergency Club Call Out Teams that are rescue ready for any emergency response required
- Enhanced Support Operations (inclusive of Duty Officers and Rescue Watercraft) ready to respond to emergency incidents.

Please stay out of the water, don’t congregate on beaches, practice social distancing and stay home!

Patrol Members.

NSWSLS has advised this morning that patrols for the rest of this season are to cease immediately. That means no more patrols. We will continue with our oncall response.
I would like at this point to thank you all for the tremeandous effort you have all made this year in keeping Wamberal Beach safe.
I appreciate that these are incredibly difficult times. If there is anything that I or the Surf Club can do to help you in anyway, please do not hesitate in asking.
.
If you are able to grab a coffee, the cafe is open for takeaway and I know Omar would appreciate your support.

Please keep safe and thank you once again.

Adam Phillips.

With much regret Wamberal SLSC has taken the decision to CANCEL our annual Sandy Ball due to the current situation with COVID-19.

I apologise, however the club feels it is the right thing to do now, as everything is changing so quickly we just don’t know what next week will bring.

If all settles down, we will looking at holding the event down the track, as we’ll all need it !

The event has been cancelled on Eventbrite. You should see the funds credited to the card used for purchase in the next 7 business day.

Telstra has done something this morning that means there’s no NBN or phone lines at the club. Well the phone sometimes. Something to do with a disconnection from 2018?! 🤦‍♂️ Which is what they told me in 2018 but was there mistake. So hopefully Telstra will have this fixed today but probably not. The last two times it’s taken at least a week! ... See MoreSee Less

Very occasionally we get what's termed a SMEAC briefing from our state operations centre. Today's one is a doozy.

In short, there are competing weather systems causing high winds, heavy rain and large, 'confused' seas over the coming week.

By Sunday, we're expecting 5m swells, a 2m high tide, and fresh NE winds.

It's not often you'll hear us say this, but being on the beach this weekend, even walking your dog, could be dangerous. Please stay away. And DEFINITELY - DO NOT go in the ocean. DO NOT attempt rock fishing.

Our lifesavers will be on duty as usual, but we will not allow them to put themselves into ridiculously dangerous situations, which an ocean rescue, particularly on Sunday, could constitute. If you get into trouble we will of course do our best, but against these conditions, our best may not be good enough.

Please stay safe, stay away from the water, and even off the beach.
